- Is Shopify Plus right for my store?
- Ask whether standard Shopify can’t meet your needs-custom checkout, complex discounts, serious multi-market, advanced automation. If you’re under ~€500k with a simple catalog and one market, standard often enough.
- How long does a Plus migration take?
- From standard Shopify: often 2–4 weeks technically-most time is configuring Plus features. From Presta/Woo/Magento: 6–12 weeks depending on catalog, integrations (ERP/CRM/PIM), and 301 scope.
- Is there a fee to upgrade from Shopify to Plus?
- Shopify doesn’t charge a separate “migration fee” as a line item. The cost is implementation: configuration, checkout work, Functions, and a safe cutover without SEO loss.
- Checkout Extensibility vs Script Editor?
- Script Editor was the legacy Ruby-based approach (deprecated path). Extensibility is the supported model: official UI Extensions in the modern one-page checkout.
- Are Shopify Functions for developers or merchants?
- They’re code (TypeScript/Rust)-developer-owned. The outcomes (discounts, validation, shipping rules) are merchant value. I translate business rules into reliable Functions.
- Agency or freelance for Plus?
- What matters is expertise and ownership. Agencies can parallelize roles; a senior freelance often gives continuity from brief to go-live-on Plus projects that continuity matters.
